Q.11 Can progestin-only injectables be safely initiated and resupplied only by doctors?

Rationales

a) No. Injectable progestins (including immediate postpartum injection in non-lactating women and post-abortion injection) can be safely administered by service providers (e.g., nurses, midwives, pharmacists, community-based distribution (CBD) workers, and others) who are appropriately trained according to relevant national or institutional standards. a) Nurses, midwives, and other community health workers can be appropriately trained to initiate and resupply injectable progestins.
