Transfer of Learning, the first in a series of ReproLearn(r) tutorials to be produced as part of the Maximizing Access and Quality (MAQ) Exchange, is now available on the ReproLine website
(tutorial). As the MAQ initiative continues to develop, new strategies for implementing best practices at the healthcare delivery level have emerged. Transfer of learning is an approach that ensures that knowledge and skills acquired during a learning intervention (e.g., best practices learning during a MAQ Exchange) are applied on the job.
The Transfer of Learning module and accompanying guide provide specific direction to supervisors, trainers, learners, co-workers, and others on what each of these groups can do before, during, and after a learning event to increase the likelihood that learning will be applied in the service delivery setting. Based on
Transfer of Learning: A Guide for Strengthening the Performance of Health Care Workers developed by PRIME II and JHPIEGO, this multimedia tutorial includes an introduction, PowerPoint slides and audio narration, a quiz, and a list of resources.
The tutorial is free of charge and will be available on a ReproLine CD-ROM in August 2003, and a special MAQ CD-ROM due out in September 2003. To order, email
orders@jhpiego.net.
