Exciting New MAQ Subcommittee Launched in the Field

In July 2000, an exciting new MAQ subcommittee was launched in Dakar, Senegal. The Francophone MAQ Subcommittee is the first subcommittee to the MAQ Steering Committee to be established in the field. In February 2001, the first meeting of the Subcommittee’s Executive Bureau was held to clarify roles and responsibilities of members and to move ahead with the Subcommittee’s technical agenda. This issue of the MAQ Bulletin is dedicated to supporting this fledgling MAQ subcommittee and to communicating information that is relevant to the MAQ initiative in Francophone Africa.

Pape Gaye, Intrah/PRIME, encouraged the Subcommittee to engage in realistic and concrete
actions that go beyond discussions held at conferences.
